Cholera is a disease transmitted by consuming food or water contaminated by feces. This can come from feces contaminating local water sources, and those water sources being used for drinking water, or for foods that are not cooked sufficiently to kill the disease. It can also come from house flies and other filth flies translocating the disease from feces to food.

For your charitable giving this year, please consider the Haitian people, and resources such as the Project Medishare Hospital. This was one of the two places where I worked in Haiti.

The volunteer staff worked tirelessly on the crowds of patients and their families, living four apiece in rooms just big enough for cots and mosquito nets.
